This Green Goddess Smoothie is ahealthy snack that’s packed full of green fruits and veggies. In less than 15 minutes, you’ll have a nutrient-packed green drink that’s reminiscent of your favorite store-bought Bolthouse powerhouse.
This is one simple green smoothie you’re going to go crazy for!
Green smoothies. You either love ’em or you hate ’em.
For some, the thought of drinking something green just reminds them of Nickelodeon slime (am I aging myself here??) and oozy sorts of things. No way could anything like that taste sweet and delicious, right??
Wrong! I’m always sure to go fruit-heavy on my green drinks to mask any of the veggies and leafy greens that give it such a bright and vibrant green hue.
Reasons why you’ll love this Green Smoothie
Beyond the fact that it’s jam-packed with so many nutrients, it’s insanely customizable. Think of all the other greens you could put in this smoothie, depending on what you have on hand:
- green grapes
- lime juice – a splash of this will really amp up the flavor
- kale – just be sure to remove the bitter stems
Plus if there’s something you don’t have on hand, smoothies are super forgiving in that way. Mix it up and make it your own. See the ingredients and substitutions section below for more ideas!
Another reason to love a green smoothie like this one is that it truly takes no time at all to roughly chop your produce and throw it in the blender. I can generally get a green juice like this one made from start to finish in under 10 minutes! That’s a must for us busy gals, am I right?

Ingredients and Substitutions
This green goddess smoothie truly is one of the greenest drinks you’ll ever make, but without the “green” flavor. And it gets that way by adding as many green ingredients as possible.
Let’s talk about the ingredients and ways you can customize this smoothie to your liking.
Celery – If you’ve been on the celery juice train, you are probably well-aware that celery has a distinct flavor. You either love it or you hate it. Celery is SO good for you – it’s full of antioxidants that fight cancer cells. It aids in digestion and inflammation. Overall, it’s just rich in vitamins and minerals. But if you just can’t handle the flavor, feel free to omit it.
Cucumbers – Cucumbers are great for both hydration and digestion, and I love sneaking small bits of veggies into my green smoothies because they’re so easy to mask the flavor with the fruit. Again, if vegetables in smoothies are not your thing, this is another one you could omit and just replace with a little more of the green fruits.
Avocados – adding this healthy fat is a great way to make a super creamy smoothie without adding a ton of flavor.
Now if you’re really wanting to jazz this green juice up and make it taste just like Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness drink, try adding these:
- mango
- pineapple juice
- half a banana
- spirulina or wheatgrass
Just be sure to keep the majority of your ingredients green to really keep that bright color!

Insider Pro Tips
Don’t be afraid to change it up
When it comes to smoothies, you really can’t mess it up. The name of the game is getting as many fruits, veggies, nuts, grains, and seeds into one drink as you can.
Maybe you only have a few of these ingredients on hand – run with it! Maybe you want to add oats or seeds. Do that! Make it work for you and what you have and like.
Drink it right away
Some smoothies totally work as make-ahead smoothies, but the water content from the celery and cucumber in this green goddess smoothie make it separate pretty quickly. You’ll want to drink this one right away and while still cold for the best texture.
Green Goddess Smoothie FAQ’s
What is a Green Goddess Smoothie?
A green goddess drink is packed full of all the greens you can possibly find, tastes delicious, and makes you feel absolutely lovely and healthy.
What types of fruits and veggies can you put in a Green Goddess Smoothie?
A good mixture of leafy greens, veggies, and fruits will be your best bet. Green apples, green grapes, and kiwis will mask your spinach, celery, avocado, and cucumbers.
Can I add protein boosters to my Green Goddess Smoothie?
Yes you can add protein powder, tofu, hemp seed, flax, oats, etc to boost the protein value of your green goddess smoothie.
Can I make Green Goddess Smoothies without a high speed blender?
You can use any type of blender but may need to blend for longer or add more liquid to get your desired consistency.
Green Juice vs Green Smoothie – which one is it?
If we’re getting technical, because a smoothie is usually made with yogurt, this would be considered a juice. A juice generally is made with the help of a juicer though, eliminating all the pulp (ie fiber) from the fruits and veggies. I opt to keep all those nutrients in my juices and smoothies. So this would be considered a good hybrid of a juice and a smoothie.
