Don’t drop the ball, delegate it. 💪Can I be real for sec? As a mom, I often feel the pressure to handle everything myself. Even with an equitable partnership and an amazing village surrounding me, I sometimes find myself falling back into my "do-it-all" mindset.Then I remind myself that asking for help is powerful and outsourcing the mental burden is transformative. ✨(And that doing both has truly saved my life!) 😅Delegating allows me to manage my responsibilities more effectively and focus on what truly matters. When I'm not using all of my free time managing my home or staying up late to make sure things like laundry and dishes get done, I'm a muchhh better person.And that means I'm a much better mom, partner, friend, and entrepreneur too. 👩👧👦So this is your reminder as much as it is my own: it's okay to ask for help and prioritize your well-being. I knew I needed more help the moment my nausea started in my second pregnancy. I pushed through. “I can do this - women have been doing this for centuries!” 💪🤰🏼Once my daughter came, I knew we really needed help. 😵💫Then, my first day back to work in January 2021, both kids were home due to childcare closures. I remember bundling them up to take them on a walk around the block with the dog and thinking "I need help. But who can help me? My mom is gone. I have no family here. But I need someone - I'm at a breaking point... Who can I trust with my kids and my home?"😩My career was taking the backseat because it was more "flexible" than my partner's. This month marks the biggest, scariest LEAP of my career. After 13 years in Tech Sales, from startups to IPOs and the consistent paycheck and benefits that comes along with it, I am going out on my own and full time on Sage Haus.Why am I crazy enough to think I could be successful? Because...💃 I believe in myself🫠 I am not the only Mom who has experienced burnout🙅♀️ Our culture is ripe for disruption and we no longer want to be "Supermoms"⏱️ I have first-hand experienced the value of reclaiming my time🤯 The MENTAL LOAD is real and quantifiable 🫶 Every Mom deserves more support🏠 Home Systems foster a more equitable division of labor❌ It's time to end the "Do-It-All" narrativeHow am I feeling? Aside from the massive investment that working parents are making to ensure they can *actually work* over the summer, it's contributing to a massive mental load they are taking on to ensure each child is taken care of (and thriving!) for the entirety of the summer.
