Academics
The Archdiocese of Miami - Virtual Catholic School (ADOM-VCS) offers a rigorous full-time and part-time curriculum that emphasizes Catholic principles, and is facilitated by innovative, state-certified teachers. Colleges and universities nationwide recognize the curriculum, credit-recovery courses, and high school diploma. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops endorses the ADOM-VCS curriculum as well.
ADOM-VCS offers a comprehensive curriculum intended to address the learning needs of all students. The program offers a college preparatory curriculum. Students are scheduled into class levels (General, Honors, and Advanced Placement) that meet their individual needs. The courses are spread over 9 disciplines: Theology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Languages, Physical Education, Practical Arts, and Fine Arts.
We follow an academic path that meets the high school requirements for the State of Florida; however, we can also create an academic plan that fulfills the requirements of another state and/or an academic plan for a student that wants to enroll in enrichment credits to earn additional credits.

The grade point average for full-time students is determined by dividing the total credits scheduled into the total sum of quality points earned.
Academic credit will be awarded on a semester basis. Students will receive .5 credit for each semester course completed with a passing grade.

The ADOM-VCS follows a 24 credit full-time program, over four years, as outlined by the Florida Dept. of Education

Full-time students must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 State GPA (un-weighted), on a 4.0 scale.
Full-time Grade 12 students, that have ADOM-VCS as the school of record and will be earning their diploma via ADOM-VCS
must:
- Complete a minimum of 100 service hours
- Take the ACT
- Complete at least 25% of the courses required for graduation at ADOM-VCS
The ADOM-VCS does not rank students.
Fulfilling the Digital Learning Act
On June 2, 2011, Governor Rick Scott signed the Digital Learning Act into law as part of House Bill 7197.
All incoming 9th grade students in Florida must now complete one high school-level virtual course as a requirement for graduation. An online high school course taken in grades 6–8 fulfills this requirement. Students and parents should talk to their school's counselor if they are still unsure.
Full-time ADOM-VCS students fulfill the 1 Online Course requirement after successfully completing one ADOM-VCS course.

Accredited Curriculum and Courses
ADOM-VCS curriculum is fully accredited. We offer over 100 courses for students in grades kindergarten through high school. Our curriculum includes core courses, theology, electives, dual enrollments, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP).
